General Information :	Community Living Huronia supports over 480 people from all ages. Pre-school children and their families receive support through Preschool Resource Services. These services and supports can be offered in the family home, in a childcare / nursery school setting or other community based programs. Preschool Resource Services is a part of the North Simcoe Early Intervention Team and are based out of the “One Roof” building in Midland. In addition, adults receive support in day programs suited to their individual needs. Elements of supports range from self-care, daily living skills, centre based & community day activity and supported employment. A strong emphasis has been placed on further developing our volunteer base. Presently 250 individuals volunteer for CLH. We are proud that there are over 30 volunteer placement opportunities for people we support in the community. People CLH supports volunteer in the community for the same reasons you or I do; to give back to “their” community and build lasting friendships. Residential Services are provided for 86 adults in group homes, 34 Supported Independent Living settings and 4 are supported in Family Home Program settings. School aged teenagers access our summer program where both work and life skills activities are enjoyed. The numbers vary from year to year. We also provide support on an ongoing basis to a number of adolescents and their families through our Future Transitions Program. With the addition of the Foundations Program, and most recently the Passports Program adults are supported with the transitions throughout their lives.
Eligibility :	The agency’s catchment area extends south to Elmvale from Midland/Penetang, west to Wasaga Beach, east to Coldwater & north to Muskoka County Line, which includes Tiny & Tay Townships, Midland, Penetang, Lafontaine, Christian Island, Victoria Harbour, Port McNicoll & Waubaushene.
