Our palliative program offers respite services to children who have been diagnosed with a life threatening, life limiting illness demonstrating a progressive decline. The end of life program offers compassionate and non-invasive care and relief of pain during the end stages of life. The Home offers two palliative suites that allow the family to stay with the child during this difficult time. Our support, in whatever form, is provided with the purpose of assisting children and their families to live full, active, independent lives for as long as possible and when this is no longer possible, to help children and their families prepare and manage life closure and the dying process. In our respite program, we provide care to medically fragile and/or technologically dependent children in a safe home-like environment; giving parents a much needed break. A typical respite stay is 48 hours. In addition to overnight care, we also offer day respite. Special requests are also taken into consideration. *Staff are Safe Management certified. |
