In Waterloo Region, nine developmental service agencies offer a variety of respite programs, both in-home and out-of-home. These programs serve people of varying ages with a variety of different needs and interests. Admission Criteria : | Southwood is generally double staffed during evening hours with one awake night staff working there. On the weekends there is 24 hour staffing with double and triple staffing during the day. Southwood is geared to adults with physical and developmental disabilities who require a more protective environment that offers a higher level of direct care. The home is accessable and has a mechanical lift system. Note that due to the needs of the permanent residents, this house is not suitable to those who require 1:1 support or those with behavioural concerns. |
