He played competitive fast ball for Orleans and was considered one of the top pitchers in Ontario. William still pitches today in the Blackburn Mens league. Description of Individual : The youth you will be working with is 13 years old with high functioning autism with a PDA presentation (Pathological Demand Avoidance). They are extremely creative and artistic and enjoy spending time drawing on their ipad and painting. They are passionate about animals, especially dogs and birds, and enjoy learning about nature. They are extremely self-aware and intelligent and enjoy deep meaningful conversations and connections with others. The youth suffers from debilitating anxiety that makes accessing the basic needs of life difficult. They require a lot of rest and recovery time after engaging in anxiety inducing activities such as school.
Worker's Role : Responsibilities
School morning routine: getting youth out of bed, getting them breakfast and administering meds, getting them ready for school and driving them to school.
On days where accessing school is not possible due to anxiety and overwhelm, spend time building connection with the youth through learning activities (such as cooking, nature walks, art). Going on walks/encouraging movement.
Availability : School day mornings from 8:00-11:00am beginning in September 2022.

Summer respite can be flexible (afternoons or evenings).
The ideal candidate will be available this summer to begin building a relationship with the youth, and continue into the 2022-2023 school year.

Description of Individual : My 21 year old son, Steven, has Dandy Walker Syndrome and Microcephaly and is completely dependent on someone to get him dressed and perform his daily hygiene. He is wheelchair dependent, non-verbal, incontinent, and has a G-tube for feedings and medicines. He loves people to talk to him and toys that make an instant noise for stimulation. He also loves to be outside and going for walks and outings whenever possible.
Worker's Role : I need a common sense worker who wants to make this a career. Daily dressing, hygiene, stretches, and diaper changes as needed. Feed and administer medications by G-tube several times in a shift. Required to entertain him, get him into his wheelchair and take him for walks or outings.
