About Us
Our Mission

Our Vision
“Creating Community Connections”
The Guiding Principles of respiteservices.com are:
1. To develop a co-coordinated, centralized, accessible respite system in the Leeds & Grenville region.
2. To develop and maintain a database of respite and community supports and service information for families of children and adults requiring respite options.
3. To work closely with community service providers to advocate for appropriate service options to meet the needs identified.
Respite care is a family support service that provides temporary relief from the physical and emotional demands involved in caring for a family member who has a disability. Respite creates greater opportunities for all family members to live actively and participate in community activities and allows parents/guardians time for themselves.
A respite break can occur in or out of your home, while your loved one is participating in agency or private supports, can take place during the day, evening, weekend or overnight. Respite looks different for every family, as it is based on works best for you.
Passport/Respite Advisor
There is a support worker available to maintain the site, assist families and workers to access their profiles and keep their information updated, connect families and workers based on need and availability, provide orientations to new workers, work to ensure community based respite options are included and up to date, and to provide general information about how families/caregivers may choose to spend their funding dollars based on their needs.
Worker Database
The Worker Database is an integral part of respiteservices.com. The Worker Database aims to recruit a large base of workers interested in supporting individuals with a disability to provide meaningful respite opportunities through community based options.
Caregivers can request the Passport/Respite Advisor to complete a search in the data base for potential workers they may choose to interview, or may request specific worker profiles based on classified ads.
Workers can also request a data base search of families looking for workers that may match their skills, experience and availability, or may request a connection with a specific family based on the family's classified ad.
