Promoting independence, community participation and community utilization are primary focuses of all programs, services and supports at Madoc C.O.P.E. Corporation. Youth to Adult Transition As part of a support network the Youth to Adult Transition Facilitator provides transition supports for young adults between the ages of 14-21 who are transitioning from school to life in community (which may include independent living, work, volunteering, social and recreational activities, further education, etc.). Services and supports provided are individualized and focus on building independence, community participation and the development of community links and partnerships which promote inclusion and community utilization. Community Participation Services & Supports Day Program This program is designed to promote independence and personal development in the areas of basic life skills, work, social and recreational activities, community participation/utilization and citizenship for adults with a developmental disability who are at least 18 years of age and who have left school. Individualized Passport Opportunities Individualized supports can be created to meet the needs of you and your family. Prices vary depending on specific support and ratio of care. Supported Independent Living This program is designed to provide individually tailored residential supports to assist adults with a developmental disability to meet their goal of living independently (or inter-dependently) in the community. Facilitators provide assistance in various areas such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication administration, budgeting, use of public transit, home management, health promotion and community orientation and participation. Facilitators also support individuals in their choice of working, volunteering or leisure activities. Supports are based on the principles of person directed planning, self-determination, social inclusion, citizenship and choice. Employment Supports This program supports individuals to gain transferable employment skills while experiencing work in a community based employment setting. Currently Madoc C.O.P.E offers employment support services in two community based businesses in Madoc, the Dough Box Bakery and the Centre Car Wash. The objective of this program is to assist individuals with learning and practicing transferable employment skills which may lead to competitive employment in the community. The Employment Support Program functions in conjunction with the Community Participation Services and Supports and the Youth to Adult Transition programs. Hours of Operation: Mon-Thurs 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Fridays 8 a.m.–2:30 p.m. |
