This program provides funding for the personal development and growth of the family member with a disability and secondly for relief and support for the family.
Enhanced Respite
Enhanced Respite is a program accessed through the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC). It provides support for families caring for children with complex medical needs. Call your local CCAC for more information and referral.
Passport Initiative
Created to provide opportunities for individuals who have a developmental disability, and who have left school to find more ways to participate in their communities.
Family Managed Respite (FMR)
FMR is a flexible, self-directed funding support that provides family members or guardians with an opportunity to have a periodic break from the daily responsibilities of care giving. Families who have an adult or child living at home, and who has been identified as having an intellectual disability are eligible.
Planned Out of Home Respite for Children with High Multiple Special Needs (OHR)
Community Living Wallaceburg receives limited funding for families who have children under the age of 18 yrs, with high multiple special needs. This funding allows families to purchase planned and coordinated respite supports in any location outside the family's home.
Specialized Respite Supports (SRS)
Community Living Wallaceburg receives limited funding for families who have children under the age of 18yrs, with significant social, emotional and behavioural needs. SRS is a flexible, self-directed funding support that provides family members or guardians with an opportunity to have a periodic break from the daily responsibilities of care giving.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Respite
ASD respite is a flexible, self-directed funding support that provides family members or guardians temporary relief from the physical and emotional demand involved with caring for children & youth under the age of 18yrs, who are diagnosed with ASD. Families served must have a child or youth diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorder including Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified & Asperger's Disorder.
Planned Out of Home Respite for Adults
Community Living Wallaceburg (CLW) receives limited funding from the Ministry of Community & Social Services, in order for families to purchase planned and coordinated respite supports for adults. Out of Home Respite is a respite service provided in any location outside the family's home.
