Step 1: Apply
  • Complete the Online Worker Registration or mail in the printable version of the registration
  • Remember to attach your resume!
  • While applying, consider having a Classified Ad. It's free, it runs for 3 months and can be renewed as needed. (The classified ad becomes active once you have completed all the requirements and have been approved as a respite worker).
Step 2: Screening Process
  • Applicants will be contacted for a screening or interview
Step 3: Attending Orientation
  • Once all requirements have been met, a Respite Coordinator will invite applicants to an Orientation. This may be conducted in group fashion or one-on-one. At the Orientation/Activation session we will provide you with informational resources, answer questions, guide you through how to access and update your profile etc.
Already a Respite worker?
Here are some important points to remember:
  • Respite workers are NOT therapists and should not be providing direct therapy for families/individuals.
  • Please keep your profile up to date as your schedule changes! The database is always evolving as we recruit new workers and families/individuals contract workers from the database. Maintaining your profile with your most up-to-date information allows for more successful matches to be made while also decreasing the number of unsuccessful contacts from families/individuals.
  • Updates may be requested at scheduled times in order to ensure our database is accurately reflecting workers current availability and contact information. Profiles that are not updated by scheduled dates will be made inactive until they are updated.
  • When updating information such as First Aid/CPR or CPI you will be asked to provide documentation before this information is listed in your active profile.
  • To remain on the database, respite support workers are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of respite work annually.
